What are you waiting for? Start now!

I’m stuck. I have great ideas about making the world a better place, standing up for student mental health, and making money online.

But, I’m stuck.

  • I don’t know where to write my articles – should I keep these lifestyle content blogs separate, or can I put them in one spot?
  • My site isn’t ready for the world. I know Big G (Google) says you should wait until your site is ready before you go live, but I have analysis paralysis! I want things to go perfect. It’ll never be perfect, so this site will never go live!
  • What if I make a mistake? Maybe I should focus on other areas. I’m wasting my time trying this out.
  • I just want to make little updates and show the growth progress. In Jaunary 2019, I made $946. It’s May 11, 2019 and I’ve already past $1K from online revenue. But the internet tells me that longer posts do better in Search Engine Ranking Pages…
  • Maybe I should do these things on Twitter, or some other social media. Does it have to be a WordPress site?
  • I know I’m supposed to collect email addresses and a mailing list… but I don’t know how to write and send out those auto emails…

Yup, I’m stuck. And I go round in round in circles. And then usually find something to procrastinate with.

Mark Manson says in his Orange Book of potty-ness that when we’re stuck, we should do something, do anything:

“If we follow the “do something” principle, failure feels unimportant. When the standard of success becomes merely acting – when any result is regarded as progress and important, when inspiration is seen as a reward rather than a prerequisite – we propel ourselves ahead. We feel free to fail, and that failure moves us forward.”

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*CK (pg 162)

In other words, I should do something. Anything.

The goal is just to do something. It could end up being great. Or not great. But the objective isn’t to have a great results. The point is to take that first step, and start.

So, this site documenting my journey from zero to hero starts now.

I want to talk about my ideas and my process.

  • I have strategies and evidence-based research to support my direction,
  • I apply effort in what I do,
  • I monitor and optimize based on data, and
  • I tinker with new ways to discover hidden gems.

And I think this SEOT approach to achieving goals is the way for me to keep going and make a difference.

Let’s begin.

Cheers, Mike

Also, for posterity. Here’s a screenshot of what SEOTeacher looks like at launch… (Why yes, it’s exactly the same as the Genesis theme. I haven’t gotten around to using my own images. Yet. )
