How 8 TPT Seller Emails Made Me Nearly $3K (With Only 500 People)
Why was the recent SEOTpreneur Scavenger Hunt so successful?
Only 488 email subscribers
(25 new subscribers)
8 emails sent
➡️ 57% opened
➡️ 14.5% clicked a link
➡️ 0.1% unsubscribed
💰 $2,846 earned
(Read the entire email sequence.)
Here’s what I learned and how we can use it for our TPT stores.
Know → Like → Trust
First, people find out about you.
(They have to know you exist)
Then, they have to like you.
Over time, if you’re consistent,
they start to trust you.
(Then, they buy.)
For my 8 emails, I focused on giving value—not just freebies. The bingo card shared real TPT SEO tips you don’t usually hear about.
People had fun, learned something, and some decided the PRO membership was a no-brainer because it felt worth way more than the cost.
Getting People to Know You on TPT
When someone sees your product, how do you get them to follow your store (to know more about you)?
- Do you have a Call To Action in your store banner: Click The Star To Follow My Store
- What’s in it for them? Give them a reason to follow your store. One seller uses, Click The Star To Follow My Store And Save 50% because they launch new resources at half price.
- Is your Call To Action at the top of your store profile?
➡️ Part of the store profile now shows up on every TPT product page:

Getting People to Like You
When you publish a new product, followers see it in their feed or email (if they have notifications on).
Are you publishing new products that they’ll love – or just random things?
(I’m guilty of this on my TPT store. I’m still throwing spaghetti at the wall to figure things out.)
My scavenger hunt worked because my message was clear: use data to improve TPT SEO to make more sales.
As a result, people like the information I’m providing because it’s useful to them.
(57% of my email list opens my emails because they like what’s in there.)
If you help someone solve a problem, they’re more likely to like you. How do your products help teachers?
Getting People to Trust You
Here’s what TPT sellers have told me during the 30 min Zoom consult.
I like Mike because
➡️ you’re transparent
➡️ you explain things in a way that I get
➡️ you seem real
➡️ you’re not just repeating what other coaches are saying
And I tried to do that consistently in my Scavenger Hunt email sequence.
Your turn.
➡️ Do your products consistently deliver?
➡️ What would your product have to do so that teachers became raving super fans?
➡️ Do you consistently do this?
(How long does it take to build trust? You tell me!)
7 things I learned
7️⃣ If you’re planting grass seed, it might take time to grow a lawn.
I’ve been a TPT seller coach for 3+ years. People are only now just discovering me. These things take time.
6️⃣ Just because I was successful this time, doesn’t mean it’ll work again.
I have to figure out what worked and do more of that.
5️⃣ Success requires effort.
I had a lot of fun, but running this scavenger hunt was a lot of work.
4️⃣ I applied sales psychology from books I’ve read and it worked.
Hit reply if you want to know which books helped the most.
3️⃣ What’s one idea you can try right now in your TPT store?
Most people reading won’t do anything. A very small number will take action.
2️⃣ Using social proof is important.
How does the image below help build social proof? Aside from reviews, how can you sprinkle social proof on your product page. Hit reply if you’re not sure.
1️⃣ Does this mindset shift help?
The TPT journey is a marathon. This means finding the will to go on, even though your body is screaming at you to quit.
See you in the next comment!
Cheers, Mike
