What Alex Hormozi Would Say About Your TPT Store Strategy – SEOTpreneur News 41

I had an interesting chat with “Alex Hormozi” the other day. Well, not the real Alex – I asked ChatGPT to channel his mindset and here’s what Alex GPT told me:

Focus on one customer avatar.

Oh, and raise my prices (apparently, $10 per month is too low for a membership). 😅

That got me thinking about my audience. See, I can’t aim to help every TPT seller – and here’s why.

Saying I create content for all TPT sellers is like saying I make resources for every Grade 3 teacher. We know that if we try to sell to everyone, we end up selling to no one. (Disagree? Reply to this email!)

Which TPT group are you in?

  • Group 1: The Brand-New TPT Sellers
If you’re just starting out and haven’t figured out there’s more to TPT than uploading lessons, my TPT SEO tips probably won’t help just yet. You’ve got bigger things to focus on than whether to use commas or pipes | in product titles
  • Group 2: The TPT Marathoners
I think these are my people. You’ve been at it for a bit, had some wins, and now you’re ready to go the distance. It’s going to take work, but you’re committed to leveling up your store, and that’s where I come in.
  • Group 3: The TPT Whales
The big players. They’ve got their systems in place and communities built. They usually come to me when they’re wondering why their products dropped in rank. (Could it be because of this?) For them, it’s more about consulting than learning.

Alex GPT told me to focus on Group 2. Is he right?

“Your focus on narrowing down to the TPT Marathoners (Group 2) is exactly what will help you scale… These are the people who will grow with you, pay for your services, and help you build a sustainable business. Group 1 will churn, and Group 3 isn’t scalable, so Group 2 is your sweet spot.

Now, focus your messaging, content, and product offerings around helping the Marathoners grow faster, smarter, and with better data-driven decisions. They’ll see your value and stick with you for the long haul.”

So, I’m working on a $97, 4-week “Bucket Repair Boot Camp” to help these TPT Marathoners grow faster, smarter, and with better data-driven decisions. I’m thinking of giving it away for free to the first few people to get feedback and testimonials. What do you think?

But enough about me – let’s turn this back to your TPT store.

Who are your people?
Who do you create content for? And how do you really know they’re the right audience for your work? And how does Alex GPT get you to narrow down your focus?

For fun: Ask Chat GPT the following: I’m thinking about doing [this] in my TPT business. What advice might Alex Hormozi give me?

Cheers,

Mike
