Convertkit

I’m using Convertkit right now for both my Educircles email club as well as my SEOTpreneur newsletter.

In the past, I’ve used Mailchimp as well as Zoho Campaigns for my email newsletter.

I want to like Mailchimp. (I like their graphic of pushing the red button to send the email.) It’s just that I find Mailchimp a little clunky. I also find their editor for creating emails a little awkward. And, I find their user interface a little confusing.

So when Mailchimp got rid of their free 2,000 email plan, there wasn’t very much holding me there.

I like Convertkit a lot, so far.

It’s easy to create send out emails to the group. (I was using Zoho Campaigns for a while because I use Zoho One. Unfortunately, I find drafting emails incredibly hard in Zoho Campaigns – everything is a block and it’s hard to move things around.)

Convertkit has a very simple interface to write emails. (I only send simple text emails, so I haven’t tried to add images.)

Some of the SEOTpreneur PRO members use SendFox for their email mailing lists (because SendFox offers a very cheap lifetime plan.) But I don’t recommend SendFox for a number of reasons:

  1. You get what you pay for. So, cheap email newsletter plan means it takes a while for emails to go out into the world. I like how with Convertkit, when someone signs up for my newsletter, they immediately get my welcome email. That’s not necessarily the case with other providers (like SendFox.)
  2. SendFox is a small company. Not a lot of WordPress plugins will integrate with it directly. So, then you have to pay extra for something like Zapier or Zoho Flow to connect your WordPress TPT blog with SendFox. On the other hand, the big email newsletter companies like MailChimp and Convertkit usually have easier integrations with WordPress plugins.

Why did I choose Convertkit? I mean, there are so many to choose from: constant contact, mailchimp, …

I started with Convertkit because I’m playing with Facebook Ads. A third-milestone ($500,000) TPT Seller at TPT Forward explained how they used Facebook Ads to Convert Kit landing page with a lot of success.

So, that’s why I went with Convertkit.

Sep 18, 2023 UPDATE: My free trial ended, I’m paying monthly, and I’m still sticking with ConvertKit. I like the email sequences I’ve built. I also like seeing how many people are at different stages of the funnel. If I stick with it for another month, I’ll switch to an annual plan to save money.
