This is my personal review of SEMRUSH.
I currently have paid for a one year business plan.
I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth it or whether I should downgrade down to their Guru level.
I first started using SEMRUSH back in September 2018. I started with a pro account and paid $100 a month to do some keyword research for some of my blog posts.
At the end of December 2018, I had gone around three months paying monthly before I decided that I would keep going with SEMRUSH. So, I decide to buy an annual plan to save money.
In fact in January 2019, I didn’t have enough projects so I spent the extra $20 a month to get 10 additional products. Of course, I bought it annually so that I could save some money as well.
Flash forward to the end of November 2019, I decided to up my game and I upgraded from the Pro plan to the monthly Guru plan. At this point, was paying $200 a month for SEMRUSH analytics.
Definitely liked what I was getting, so in December 2019, I upgraded to an annual Guru plan which save some money paying for the year up front.
A year later, in December 2020, I was making some New Year’s resolutions for 2021. And I thought that 2021 would be the year of analytics for me.
I wanted to go deeper with data driven decisions and I definitely did like how the business plan allowed for Google data studio integration with SEMRUSH. (At the time, the old guru plan did not provide Google data studio access. It does now.)
So, in December 2020, I made the bold move of upgrading to paying for an annual Business plan which cost me around $4,000 US.
I’m almost halfway through 2021 and I want to take a moment to think about whether I was getting good value out of my SEMRUSH business account.
So, I thought it would leave a review of SEMRUSH.
And, as an experiment, I thought I would use SEMRUSH to see if I could get this review of SEMRUSH to rank on Google.
So, it’s kind of meta-. It’s like looking in a mirror, in a mirror, in a … You get the idea.
This is a work in progress. Stay tuned…
